A Call For Humor!

Not seriously humor, but if you don’t laugh at it, then it becomes just depressing…

So I suggest you laugh at it. Here’s to 100 sun wraps!

U.S. debt now stands at about $39.4 trillion. If laid end-to-end in one-dollar bills, it would stretch all the way to the Sun, wrap around it about 62 times, and still make it all the way back to Earth.

(The good news is that if it were instead laid evenly over the surface of the moon, it would only be about 1/60th the thickness of a human hair, proving its insignificant and can be safely ignored?)

It’s just paper, coloured paper. Can be ignored. Just make sure you have some goodies that others demand so you can exchange it for some bread.

Question is... to whom do we owe this money?!?

Short answer bond holders
You didn't get my question right...
US has trillions of dollars debt, right? Towards whom? Cannot be Americans, right, as it would not be debt...
Europe itself has also trillions of (Euro?) debt.
All in all, the whole World has trillions upon trillions of debt. Maybe we owe them to Jupiter? Because if we owe them each other around, I think we can call the question closed...

"you're crazy, but don't stop" :)

Your children.

Quantitative easing (printing money with no value backing) is effectively the Government borrowing money from the future which after using it to buy bonds and overspend on Government services increases national debt if the economy doesn't grow fast enough.

This is what I had in mind. How in hell do you need more money than you have to buy things that need money to be manufactured that produce money in form of taxes you have to pay in order to sell items, and people buying those items pay taxes for possessing them...
It's indeed silly, isn't it? Why is my government allowed to print money out of thin air, and I am not... why am I not allowed to get a mortgage for 50 years, and have no idea to pay it out, and leave it to my grand-grand-grand children.
Ah, now I see it: it's for bombs.
