I saw one Star Wars movie in total. It was 1977, I was 12 and the film was meh. That was enough Star Wars for me. So I ask you, is Oral Knots' parody more or less ridiculous than the movies it ridicules?

So -- a very big name in my field (Glycobiology) back in the day, Bob Trimble, worked for NY State in... whatever organization -- health sciences of some sort. I saw him give a talk when I was in grad school. He showed a photo of their 'campus', which was apparently one of Rockefeller's legacies as governor. Bob noted, deadpan, that the building complex was known to most folks there as Rocky's Last Erection.

It is absolutely ridiculous. Dirk Dirtfarmer, Han Singular, Creepio and Fartoo, Chewbacca's screams, laser swords being literal lasers with unlimited length... I mean

Indeed, I noticed that much. But is it more ridiculous?

Let's just take the example of imperial data entry staff ordering coleslaw for lunch. Is that really more ridiculous than the idea that these eejits, in their oversize aero helmets (going to race a TT after this, are they?) working the consoles with those gloves, are even a little bit menacing or sinister? Is it really?

Now this one is good. Some grownups take their Tolkien so seriously and when these Jackson films were out and receiving endless hype it got kinda outa hand. The films are even longer and more romantically overwrought than the books. Kanyabelieveit?
