I had to look up what MrBeast does since I didn’t know him. I think the key distinction is this: making money (or gaming the algorithm) doesn’t automatically mean the choices are intelligent. It just means they’re good at what the platform rewards.Idk. Presumably some are trying to be the next MrBeast, who has earned a load of dough optimizing videos for the algorithm, i.e. making them maximally attention seekey/getty. In the country where I live making a load of dough by gaming some system or other like that is not typically described as dumb.
For example, I am a fan of American football and some of those players make incredible amounts of money because they’re extremely talented, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re ‘smart’. Having money, or even the ability to earn it, doesn’t mean someone is intelligent and you can see that in some of the choices that get some of those players in trouble with the law, etc.
But anyway, this is drifting more into a psychological/philosophical discussion than a humorous discussion…so getting back on track:
, though, that we used to have a cat who was grey on the average.
