A Call For Humor!

Again an old one: A West German (Wessi) and an East German (Ossi) were involved in a crash (in the 80s). Nothing happened to them, but both cars totaled. Sh!t, says the Wessi - I'm stuck here for the weekend until Mercedes can deliver a replacement. The Ossi: Oh God, what will I do, I've worked all my life to buy this car... Wessi: Maybe you should not buy such an expensive one...

The famous last word before the brawl

Is that like being another brick in the wall?
askin' for a friend...

A German joke about their famous Trabi (automotive tamagotchi), hard to translate alas:

Why the name "Trabi"?
Because it reached max. 100 km/h. If it was twice as fast, it would be called Galoppi.
The “best” thing about the Trabi? It had a small gas tank. When the tank was almost empty, there was a “reserve.” To access it, you had to turn a small lever. It was located in the passenger’s footwell. That’s why drivers were out of sight for several seconds while driving.

Indeed, I contemplated to use this earlier. Somehow we think alike.

Handgemenge :D

(One of my favourite words in this context)

You have my deepest sympathy. I am so, so sorry for you.

ahem.

So, let's try this. This popped up from someone I follow (?!) on Flickr. I found it amusing.
When windsocks just aren't quite enough for the task at hand...

The funny part is that while everyone calls windsocks Windhosen (wind pants/trousers) colloquially, it's really the word for tornado.

Joke's on him, the Ossi's AKM has way more power lol
OTOH, the only not uniformed Ossi with a gun, I met in these times, was a certain Markus (yes this one). The peasants regular citizens were not allowed to carry outside, except the uniformed functionaries.

I admit to be thick as a brick sometimes...

Hey now, I thought we were going fully automatic unrealistic, with the Wessi pulling out a random MP5 which he isn't allowed to have either :D

Theoretically you are right, I knew one, however, who legally carried a 9 mm pistol as a Wessi in the GDR. Three letter agency employee, a very comfortable position, all knew, no one was against (sapienti sat).

THE Markus from the Grimms Tale: The Markus and the Seven Little Goats?
The seven little goats were around him (Felix Dzierżynski)...

OK now I must go fetch groceries, before Lidl closes or the MIBs get my ass :p
