When AI and the new robots were introduced, I was thrilled. I thought, “Finally, there’s a solution for those simple, boring, repetitive tasks.” I immediately thought, “I want one of those—for cleaning, doing laundry, and cooking.” Then I’d have plenty of time to be creative—something AI can’t do. Well… where’s the rag…
That's one interpretation, and might have been the original intent. A friend sees it differently, having been one of the working class kids playing mostly rugby but some football. For him it's about the behaviour."Rugby is a game for ruffians played by gentlemen and football is a game for gentlemen played by ruffians."
A very snobbish view because ruggah is played in public schools and football is played by working class kids.
Then there's the whole snobbism between Rugby Union and Rugby League. Union was played in the posher schools, League was played professionally Oop North where it's grim. That's one interpretation, and might have been the original intent. Afraid to ask:...
Cricket, a game played by gentlemen and watched by gentlemen
Rugby, a game played by gentlemen and watched by hooligans.
Football, a game played by hooligans and watched by hooligans.
...

Ethnics jokes were a thing when I was growing up and making fun of most every (or any) ethnicity was totally acceptable... and quite funny!Reasons to like France
So, herewith, I must recall one, for nostalgic reasons (re-framed for the 21st Century):
No, thank you.I can get you a great bargain on some French MAS-36, only dropped once...
epic AI "poetry"
Wait until this turns via instadings and such to a lot of surgery corrections request ...epic AI "poetry"![]()
The snobbiness still exists. In Australia (and I’m sure in NZ too) if you say “rugby” most people will assume you mean Union. Then there's the whole snobbism between Rugby Union and Rugby League. Union was played in the posher schools, League was played professionally Oop North where it's grim.

I’m guessing your friend is talking about League when they say “rugby”. As @sergeauckland points out, there’s a real class difference between the sports. My family moved to the uk for a few years when I were a lad. The posh school I attended did not even offer football as a sport. It was rugby (union) only, football was the working class game. That's one interpretation, and might have been the original intent.
