The correct conclusion from the pulling up of a chair is that the person understands what the problem is, how to fix and wants you to get out of the way so they can get on with fixing it! (I never had this problem supporting trading floors; the expectation was that you knew what you were doing and the traders were highly incentivised to let you get on with it so they could get back to trading!)
