A Call For Humor!

Why the hell did you? You destroyed a legend in the making!
Well, he might have asked me to come to listen. Quite certain it would violate some human right laws, even be illegal :P

This gives my inner little devil another idea: With so many believers in "snake oil stuff", why not make a pair of "voodoo only" loudspeakers? They could be just empty tiny boxes, but "activated" by some mystery method, so they would send music of "divine" quality right into the victim's listener's brain.
And of course, they would need a new activation every year or so...
:)

You laugh but kinda that is actually being researched

Direct brain interface. That article is about reading out brain response, but the other way around, injection of audio directly into the brain, is also researched. Cochlear implants are the first step and already established.

Proper cyberpunk transhumanism stuff.

Other airforces: paint national colours, teeth, pinups, and pretty patterns on their jet fighters

"The Elon" is at it, too. But this is scientific, while the speakers would be "pure voodoo".

Now that's pretty! Also holds significance. Like this historical gem:

MiG-29 in NATO and German colours, sporting the iron cross. Quite a sight!

Luftwaffe had acquired these in 1990, together with trained mechanics and pilots after incorporating the NVA (east German forces). Of course NATO jumped on the opportunity to evaluate them in real combat exercises for the first time. Eventually sold to Poland for a symbolic 1€ each, after evaluation was done and upkeep considered too difficult and costy. Poland is still operating the model, although I don't know whether it's these specimen. Polish airforce had used these anyway and got all the proper infrastructure for operation and maintenance, so it made sense to get them.

Mig-29, a "multimigrant" fighter, all across Europe. But they are almost "technically dead" now.

Since we're an audiophile science forum, there's also the legend of tube electronics in older MiG models being so electromagnetically robust and primitive with fly-by-steel-wire, it is said they could even survive a nuclear EMP blast and keep flying, while all NATO aircraft with modern transistor electronics would fall out of the sky. Yet another legend of literal tube amp superiority. Even follows the general rule, there's a hint of scientific truth to that, just enough to convince the gullible, but overall it's nonsense. :D

But it would be in vain, with the pilot dead... OK, maybe not with Chuck Norris, but he was not available for "Iwan" :p

MiG-25 was designed to intercept NATO bombers after nuclear exchange had begun.

Although that's mostly speculation and not a confirmed design goal. Never directly tested either. The fighters used in nuclear test observation relied on long range sensors and high acceleration and speed for getting the hell out of there before pilots got irradiated too much. Several planes were contaminated by fallout and were scrapped after.

Was there any kind of rave scene in DDR, @Ropeburn? If so, what was it like? The TV cop-comedy show Kleo showed post-DDR Berlin instantly exploding with it but that was a few years after it really kicked off in the UK. It only occurred to me now that that there was a short overlap between commie rule and rave.
