A Call For Humor!

This was a stand-up comedy every time with my dog. Him jumping into the lake = OK, but try to bathe him LOL.
The only OK(ish) way was to have a full bathtube first and drop him in. Once he was wet, all was good though.

I wonder about those dogs that enjoy the garden hose, like this one

How do they feel about being given a shampoo and rinse?

Depends on the dog, some can't have enough water play, some don't like it.
My general observation is, as long as they decide themselves, all is well.
Shampoo seemed not to make much difference.

Oh, and a dog is usually very social - when he comes out of the water, he will position himself so, that everybody gets their fair share of the water he shrugs off :)

Exactly our observation. Lucy loves to go to and into the water. She doesn't like water that comes at her. I think that's the more common case.

These dogs that love having the hose shot at them are more unusual. I'd love to know how they take to being put in the bath tub and getting the shower shot at them.

That's where you use your well-rehearsed the "don't shake" cued behavior. :p

So when Lucy was young I taught her the "under!" move where she comes to me, does a 180 around my right leg, and sits between my legs. Cute trick in its own right but nice for putting on a leash and stuff. I started to use it as a starting position for fetch too. Start with under, then I throw the toy and she's got to wait for my cue before going for it. Didn't I feel clever and proud of my dog?! Until...

Lucy learned to swim and decided being a water retriever was her life's calling. In all weather. She was so used to doing the under to set up the next throw that I couldn't stop her doing it even in winter and my trousers get soaked and it's freezing.

Sharing is caring.

Martin
Lived through that exact pain when I lived in the east bay and later Devils Slide collapse where my 25 mile ride into the City became a nightmarishly slow 90 mile round trip with many other "Coastside " commuters for close to a year. Books on tape was my savior.

There is nothing to unscramble, that's why ;)
