Theoretically. I have, however, the strange "feature" of getting used to pain and ignoring it, like a bad smell.
Allegedly due to a high level of endogenous opioids (whatever...). An exception is my occasional migraine.

But it reminds me of an old joke: A young couple asking a therapist with burnout, how to make sex.
He lazily looks out the window and says "do you see these dogs? That's about right".
After a month they come to the follow-up visit, he asks if there's progress - answer: "it was embarassing initially, but now all lawns belong to us".

How many ends do you have?

Superior, inferior, anterior, posterior, dorsal, ventral, medial, ... do they all have such ends?
You forgot distal and proximal.

Back in college, a visiting house mate's friend from the Marshall Islands told us that in his culture it is the burn of the exiting meal that defines the hottest foods.
