Are you in California?
Us, in coastal communities (TheOC) of SoCal, are not quite sure where "Cali" exactly is!
Cali.jpg

We know NorCal, we know IE (Inland Empire, or the 909ers), we know BayArea, we know CentralValley and SanFernandoValley (SFV).
But the informal "Cali" reference is 'almost universally avoided' by the locals/natives.
Claude insists that "...it's a well-known tell that someone isn't a native".
WT actual F?!
:p
Where The actual F, is it?

Claude is the expert? Funny.

Natives I know say all three: NorCal, SoCal and Cali.

Also, NorCal is anything north of where exactly? I’ve seen natives reference SLO, Monterey and Santa Cruz…

And Central California is either a region that is horizontal in the state somewhere between NorCal and SoCal or is it the Central Valley?

Nobody but a now defunct trash disposal service I knew of referenced any Empires.

And SFV is a weed strain.

Your point?
:D

"Cali" is new, it's kinda like Frisco was in 1900's. It shows that if one doesn't call it the The City they never lived close like South City or just got here.

Actually as an owner of 9 huskies over the years, I think it's safe to say that may very much NOT be AI. Until you've spent significant time with a husky it's hard to believe how "vocal" they can be and...Yes...they can be immense drama queens.
Our Rosko -the Siberian- would start with a few and loud vocal warmup "WAHOOhooHOOO" yodels, that would be segued into a full howl. :)

When us SoCal locals see those colorful new "Cali" t-shirts on tourists, with their freshly-plucked chicken skins... we assume they are Minnesotans, escaping their winter hell!

First rule of being a tourist is to make certain nobody mistakes you for a local. :p

So funny, I go shopping on Tuesday mornings because my wife says "now that your retired, you have to pull your own weight" with my retort 'which is substantial'. Today in Safeway in Half Moon Bay, three German guys, one in a Dormund shirt pull up in rental car looking young and fit and ran around the store laughing at the offerings having the time of their lives, so I Googled German soccer players in SF recently;
