A Call For Humor!

Screen says Lenovo bottom part IBM is this the last generation before they became Lenovo ? I’ve possibly had one of these , we used IBM/Lenovo for as long as I remember at work :)
It's either that, a true chimera, or a reanimated IBM with a Lenovo display grafted on to it by the aforementioned Ben (Myers).
Ben had a nice little cottage industry buying/finding/rehabbing and selling used computers and providing all sorts of general IT support to very small businesses (e.g., my little LLC biotech consultancy post-retirement).

As a complete aside (I do like to type...): Ben was also one of our daughter's soccer (ahem, football, for those folks in most of the non-US world) coaches early in her school athletics 'career'. Our daughter, though a rather petite woman, was a formidable and fearless defensive player in those days and indeed a central Massachusetts All-Star player her senior year in high school. :)
She's still pretty competitive. ;)

IIRC, After IBM sold their Personal Systems Group to Lenovo, Lenovo were entitled to use the 'IBM Thinkpad' branding for 5 years, but I don't think they waited that long.

we're having pesto* tonight, so, truth be told, I am visualizing whirled basil... but peas are good, too!

* 2025 backyard harvest (both basil and garlic), made & frozen back in September. I blanch the basil before making pesto. We freeze it in ice-cube trays and store it in quart containers in our big freezer. It stays bright green and wonderful tasting even after freeze-thaw. :)

I use a very vintage Waring "blendor" to make it, because I am nothing if not lazy.

Full disclosure: these photos are from 2024, but 2025 looked about the same. ;)

I prefer the rich full texture that only a tubed blender can provide...
