Not necessarily. It may just have a under spec'd power rating or over spec'd power supply.

But again, why should I spend a lot of money on class D and switch mode supply... When my class AB and H works flawlessly. We also established many times that most differences in sound between different amplifiers, mostly can't be heard at a certain 'good enough' point... Right?

Right, properly designed AB amps have been fully transparent for close to 4 decades now.
Only reason to replace them is if they fail, or just for reliability piece of mind.
Or if your tree hugger worried about saving energy and such.
Me, I'm looking at trying to swing a loan for the new 777hp 680ftlbs Ram TRX OMG
