No matter who or what you identify as HAPPY NEW YEAR

I always thought that nerds are the academic types and geeks are sci-fi types. A nerd is someone who likes to study and can probably bore you to death with intricate details of an arcane subject. Like DSP. A geek is someone who is likely to dress up as a Jedi knight and go to a Star Wars LARP.

These are geeks.

How about us that are both Nerds and Geeks? Are we called Neeks or Gerds?
We identify as Robosexual, "It/Them". Way beyond the Furries.

The only difference between nerds and geeks as defined above is that the nerd is alone in the corner of the party and the geek is roaming around the party annoying everyone.
Some of us are geeky-nerds and some are nerdy-geeks. Because my wife says that I want to be a hipster I think I am the latter, but I feel pretty normal.

I think hipster is a separate category altogether. They aren't necessarily interested in science or tech but more focused on being socially/culturally esoteric.

Okay nerdy-geek-want2Bhipster.

It is also "well known" that nerds (like me) are much better lovers than Geeks.

This is according to my Wife who had her fair share of both back in the Day.

But I think (based on the above chart) that I am in a subset of the Nerd family cause I can't stand sci-fi and have no interest in movies or gaming but love programming (even in retirement) and love my Linux PC's (all 20 of them)
