So... I saw this, in full disclosure, posted by a colleague and friend at hifihaven.

It strikes me that the irony of the above is that some (indeed, perhaps many or even most) "audiophiles" would see it thus:

A bit of truth is really in it... But "not normal people" are objectivists and subjectivists alike.
A hobby must be a little crazy, if it weren't, it would be a second profession.
 
A Polish newspaper in (IIRC) 1953 (after the death of Stalin) made a typo in his name (r instead of t), making it read as "Shitter".
No one noticed soon enough, because it was the main headline.
IDK whether the editor survived.

Did it look like Сралин?
I live in Bulgaria, and we use Cirillic too; small nuances between Bulgarian and Russian apply, of course, but it indeed sounds to me like something related to "shitting", or "shitted upon"... ;-)

Exactly, only in latin alphabet (Sralin). Imagine that in 1953...

Jim Nabors was never an active-duty Marine; however, he was awarded the rare distinction of being named an Honorary Marine by the U.S. Marine Corps in 2001 and was "promoted" to Honorary Lance Corporal in 2007.
