They are indeed.
When birding there about 15 years ago (oy vey! tempus fugit! :facepalm:), Mrs. H had a close encounter on a trail with a cassowary. Initially thinking it to be a male, she thought it might be her last bird encounter. Fortunately, it was a female - so it made a good story, rather than a sentence from a coroner's report. :eek:

So i assume the females get manicures and are less worrysome
