A Call For Humor!

Indeed. I was thinking back - fondly - on 3.11 when I saw the Bill Gates meme earlier today. :)
I also reflected on Windows for Workgroups, which was kind of a little appendix to the numbers line along the Windows axis. I am pretty sure there's a set of disks (floppies!?!) for that here someplace. Pretty sure there are distribution CDs for Windows NT, here, as well -- that was Win4, wasn't it? Probably both in the same box. I even know which box they're probably in. No. I am not proud of that.
Yes, Windows for Workgroups was the operating system running on my first laptop--a very nice HP Machine with a track ball. When I first got the machine, the track ball did not work. I called the help number (which was NOT toll free) and the very helpful guy ended up giving me a total tour of the system while trying to find the problem. It turned out the check box was not checked next to "enable track ball". Not sure if this was part of the operating system or part of the machine's firmware. Either way, it was the most intense lesson i've ever had on personal computing. Well worth the $30 I ended up paying for the call!

I forgot some because I never used them. Millennium followed 98 in the 16 bit Windows world. I just forgot 7 entirely. A shame, because many considered that to be their best.

Windows and NT were separate lines: 16 and 32 bit. Everything is based on NT now. As in NTFS.
Oooh, WindowsME (Millennium Edition)!
Pointless ME aside follows: My father, late in life, bought himself a remarkably nice Dell minitower (with a lot of help from a phone sales agent, who was apparently quite used to dealing with somewhat befuddled older people in the early 2000s). It came with WindowsME installed. It worked, i.e., it was fit for purpose for an old man who liked to look at the weather forecast and could, kind of, manage reading and writing email (although his replies were almost always IN ALL CAPS for whatever reason :p).

OMG, I almost forgot about this. But I think it was a "Multimedia Edition"
Oooh, WindowsME (Millennium Edition)!
Forgive them, Oh Lord, as they don't know what they're doing. (cit. The Holy Bible)

After Windows CE, Windows ME, and Windows NT, here we go with the final one: Windows CE.ME.NT.

There are so many different threads in which this would be apropos.
I thought it was humourous, so here it goes.
