A Call For Humor!

I had an after-market (Pioneer) AM/FM/CD 'radio' in my old (and much-missed) Toyota Tacoma. I had to print a page of the manual and keep it in the glove compartment in the truck for the instructions on how to reset the clock on the thing for the annual change to, and back from, "Daylight Saving Time" ("summer time"). The process was decidedly abstruse.

I had the same truck also with a camper shell. 1995 in my case. Owned it 21 years. Sold it with over a quarter million miles with everything still functioning fine. Of course it was pretty simple. Included options were: Air Conditioning.

I never had any issue setting time on the radio/cassette unit. Which also was a Pioneer CD/AM/FM Radio. I think it was the Super Tuner III. I put the original AM/FM cassette unit in it when I sold it. Fellow wanted it that way. Miss mine too.

Mine still is, 2012, I can't seem to lose it. I have a certain sense of pride at Home Depot next to giant Next Gen models, as shorter guys climb up and I climb in. The antenna went down and when the YT video showed me I had to remove a tire to replace it I was down to three strong FM stations and AM (God and foreign language around here). The strongest FM is KCSM 24/7/365 Jazz, That was a sign that things are okay, keep driving it.

I have a 2003 and I chuckle at the people with their huge trucks that rarely, if ever, haul anything. When we were working on our yard the guy that ran the loader at the rock yard would spot me walking into the office and by the time I'd paid he'd have a scoop full of dirt ready to drop into the bed in the front parking area as soon as I gave him the thumbs up that that is what I wanted. I wish I'd kept the receipts just to know how many loads it hauled.

Cannot remember whether my Taco was an '00 or an '01. Our son-in-law bought it used. 4WD, 5 speed, and A/C, but not much else. It was virtually the perfect small truck (although a small "club cab" would've been nice). When we decided to move to the wilds of New Hampshire, I wanted a truck. The details are irrelevant but when it was all said and done, I bought a used Tundra (same year as the Taco) and ultimately swapped trucks with our son-in-law.

Come to think of it, and weirdly kind of, sort of on-topic , the Tundra had an aftermarket Pioneer radio in it, too -- but that one had a clock that was intuitive to set.

We both got a decade of good use from both of those trucks after the swap (which was in 2013, give or take) -- they were both still running fine. Body rust ultimately rendered them both more trouble than they were worth to maintain, so we passed them along. Both trucks had well over 200k miles on them.
The Taco, I know, is doing farm truck service up in Maine. Not sure what happened to the Tundra.

OK enough about that, back to the memes! ;)
