A Call For Humor!

Over engineering of a garter belt? (has a lot of straps). I was going to post this in the over engineering thread but thought it was more appropriate here!

It just leads to a greater feeling of....anticipation! That song is wandering around in my mind right now.

Funny -- that song makes me think of Heinz ketchup.

Well... OK... it makes me think of Carly, too. :)

I could totally see Zimmy going through a phase in his long and storied career where he'd write (or rewrite, as the case may be) that!
In fact, I wouldnt' be the least bit surprised if he mumbled his way through a version sporting those lyrics in a concert in 2003 somehwere way off the beaten path. :)

Why am I drawing a blank on this one? I am thinking of Steely Dan's Peg -- but... Margaret? Not Maggie's Farm...
I am chagrined.
You've got me to obsessing, old chap!
You'll have to explain all those to me, as none of them make any sense!

I get the Joseph Ducreux self-portrait, but not the memes.

that image as smart-aleck of yore trope for memes has a long and storied history.
@Boris Badinov's recent bolus of such memes are mostly (and presumably all-ly ;)) song lyrics.

For example (and I love feeling professorial):

evokes a couplet from Pete Townshend's song I Can See for Miles.
I know you've deceived me
Now here's a surprise
I know that you have
'Cause there's magic in my eyes

Post 30,868 is a gentle and kind-hearted tribute to the very recent passing of Rhoades EDIT ahem Rhodes scholar, military helicopter pilot, singer-songwriter-actor, and all around good ole boy, Kris Kristofferson, who - among other fine songs - penned Me and Bobby McGee.

und so weiter, und so fort
as the Germans might say. :)
edit: or, as the King of Siam might have put it...
