This is a true story!
And not funny at all, but it is regarding left turns in the USA.
A few years back, one faithful morning, my dad was waiting at the lights somewhere in Orange-County to turn left. I believe he was 90ish at the time.
The sun was in his eyes, when the light changed to green to go straight, he assumed he could go (light apparently was still red for turning left).
So he started off to make his left turn. Unbeknown to him, a Harley, chased by two other Harleys, was speeding down-hill from the opposite side towards him. The front Harley hit the back of my dad's SUV so hard, the car swang and was thrown a good few yards, facing the other way. The Harley exploded, making a ditch on the tarmac, the rider was thrown about 10 yards, hit an electrical junction box and died instantly!
My dad escaped with minor injuries. Luckily there were witnesses, and the coroner reported massive drug intake by the rider, so my dad got off lightly.
left turns could be deadly.
