A Call For Humor!

about water towers, those American ones are always so ugly. We in Europe tend to make it look good, more like a statement building as you can see it from far. Some examples:

And i could go on some pages if i wished. They are also considered monuments in many cases down here, more than functional.

Curtis Bay Water Tank by smseidel1, on Flickr

This is the water "tower" where I grew up (i.e., the one supplying water to our neighborhood), located on the verge of Sixth Street Park (EDIT: Wrong park) in Curtis Bay (Baltimore), MD. It is at the top of Curtis Bay Hill and fairly dominates the local skyline (such as it is).
It's a little shabby looking there nowadays, I guess -- I have some photos from the '70s someplace and I'll scan one whenever I get obsessive enough on the topic (likely today, given the outpouring of water tower love that's broken out here of late)!

:)

Plant City, FL

Many strawberry growers in the area.

"Today, over 3/4 of the nation's midwinter strawberries come from Plant City."
