A Call For Humor!

I was involved in a little discussion about lifting grounds (for troubleshooting ground loops) Somewhere Else recently.
I shared a photo of one of the classical tools used (in the good ol' US of A) to do this.

And I thought to myself:
Hmm. It looks like it knows that the end user isn't going to hook that little green tab to a ground.

If someone's AC outlets are THAT old -needing cheater plugs - even what you loosely refer to as 'ground' becomes suspect.
I probably have a half-a-dozen of those stashed away but you are welcome to call me lazy/liar, since I won't provide a photo.

That is absolutely true! The irony of those adapters.
Meanwhile, if I am using one, it is with deliberate and willful neglect of their nominal purpose! ;)
I've got -- a few -- hangin' around here, too.
They all look pretty much the same.
I think I have them in black, beige, grey, and orange.

Look, only $450!

Preserved for posterity (how long will that ad last?).

You could get a used pair of Polk Audio Monitor Series Model 10 of similar vintage cheaper than that -- and they come with tweeters.

I am just sayin'.

Oh, meanwhile -- two from our colleagues @ Club Polk.

Lol. I had a pair of those Panasonic Thrusters back around 1980. They came with one of those cheap all-in-one stereo sets (turntable, tuner, cassette player, amp/controls all in one unit) which I‘m sure cost much less than the asking price in that ad. If you look at the label, you will notice what looks like a woofer is a passive radiator. There’s nothing “audiophile” about them.

That is exactly so -- as is the large cone in the Polk.
Nothing wrong with PRs, by the way -- it's a way to construct a bass reflex enclosure without the challenges of port noise.
<insert bad pun Port Noise Complaint joke here and invoke Philip Roth :facepalm:>

Panasonic added some sex* to the mix with their Thrusters and their Vibra-Cones
