  • Because it doesn't have high gain, I could leave the volume knob at 9'o clock where left-right volume mismatch is not audible. I couldn't leave volume knob at 9'o clock with TILEAR XZD-1752 which is a previous version of AIYIMA A04.
    • Amplifiers with analogue volume knobs should really set gains low.
  • I got AIYIMA A07 with LM4652NA Op amp. AIYIMA A07 with LM4652NA sounds slightly better than TILEAR XZD-1752, but there isn't much difference. That's all I can say.
  • It produces less hiss than TILEAR XZD-1752 when there is no sound. Less hiss means less baseline noise. But, the amount of hiss from TILEAR XZD-1752 wasn't audible at my listening position. TILEAR XZD-1752 was okay for near-field listening.

Interesting. :)
I have two Aiyima a04 and one a07 .
In my opinion, the Aiyima a04 with lm4562 sounds a little better than a07 with the stock ne5532.
The Aiyima a04 with lm4562 is dead quiet - no hiss at all. The hiss is slightly higher from Aiyima a07, but still very low.
You can see this in the specs for the tpa3251 and tpa3255 used. Tpa3251 has lower hiss.
I agree with your comments about the volume gain.
The picture shows my op-amp rolling, I have tried the ne5532, opa1612, lm4562 and opa1642.
Extensive listening test showed me that the best sounding result was with the lm4562.

AIYIMA A07 with LM4562NA boots up a lot faster than TILEAR XZD-1752. Does anyone know why it boots faster?
