$9 Headphone Review: Sony MDR-ZX110

Mind sharing the HD800 EQ you ended up with?
No, I don't mind.:) It's limited by the RME having only one low shelf filter so the second band had to use a peak filter.

1: LS Fc=40Hz Gain=+8.0dB Q=1.0
2: PK Fc=52Hz Gain=+3.0dB Q=0.7
3: PK Fc=2.7kHz Gain=+1.5dB Q=3.0
4: PK Fc=5.9kHz Gain=-6.0B Q=3.0
5: PK Fc=11.0 kHz Gain=-2.0dB Q=1.0

I specially have bought them, completely trusting Amirm. A track for dough - Diana Krall "Stop This World". The first inclusion - one thought - I them now will throw out))) the Second inclusion
- Amarra EQUALIZER - it can't be! How???? It is delightful! Amirm thank you that you open the new horizons.
P.S. But I will leave for myself, my 650 and Z7)))))

This may be heresy but there is a version with a microphone as well.. would that change anything?

Man if I have this right everything my kids do will go through the $9 Apple dongle and this $9 headphone! Maybe some of mine too.

Pardon my ignorance but do I understand this correctly as the frequencies to adjust?

Looks like you might want to remove your extra unused bands.

Do they need to be removed if they are at zero? I'm honestly brand new at this. Also, I just notice that Amir's EQ says low slope at 40...does that mean that I should move the 20, 25, and 30 up to +8 as well per the revision below?

You're using a graphic equalizer. Amir's adjustments are using the parametric EQ. Big difference. The APO EQ gives the option of graphic EQ and Parametric EQ. Parametric EQ is much more precise.

why not use the Peace interface? Will make things much easier. New version is already out.

Of course he is. :-) sigh...Well I found the low shelf filter at least. Does this directionally look right or should I just give up?

It looks real wrong. Don't give up, start from scratch. First, keep that low-shelf. Get rid of the graphic eq. Next, add three peaking filters. The first, 1000hz, gain of 5db, Q of 3. Next, 2500hz, 5db, Q of 2, next 5900hz, 7db, Q of 2. The analysis panel, when showing red, is showing overload. Use the preamplification gain to get the peak gain down to -1. This should be a negative level of gain. Somewhere around -12 db. Then you will be set.
