ZZ Top
Cheap Sunglasses
Hah! I was going through your string of YTs (thanks for providing artist and title in text, btw) and initially thought, No. Not giving a like to ZZ Top. and I scrolled on. and then I scrolled back up and thought, It's the 80s. If course ZZ Top.

You got me.

There's no accounting for taste, and no debate of it. Anyway, I have about 120 playlists, and here are a few of my fave bands that had some 80's presence, pulled out of those lists. Albums and tracks vary, but someone may make a discovery with some not yet heard....
Cocteau Twins
The Cure
The Cult
Dead Can Dance
Joy Division
Public Image Ltd
Sisters Of Mercy
U2
Yello
Eurythmics
Depeche Mode
Fields Of The Nephilim
New Age Steppers
New Order
Nick Cave
Ozric Tentacles
Propaganda
Smiths
Talk Talk
Sade
... there are many more that I play, but I'm probably already boring you.
Not boring me.

You might enjoy taking a scroll through my ᵀᴼᴹˢ ⁸⁰ˢ ᴾᴼᴾ ᵀᵁᴺᴱˢ playlist in YouTube. I made it for a friend who needed help designing a re-education program for his teens.

What are we missing? Talking Heads, Kate Bush, ... Sorry I gotta go do things.

A polite request, @WillBrink and everyone really, please include artist and title of your YouTube embeds. The embed in your OP doesn't work for me and I cannot figure out what it is.
It's simply a YT vid, same as yours. It does not work for you?

A few of my '80s favs:

Excellent. Where did you find this playlist?

Amazing to think back that it was The Specials that got Nelson Mandela out. Young musicians today should follow this example.
It's a CD I own, now on my NAS, a fav, look on Amazon, Ebay or Discogs

Correct. I cannot access it. YouTube redirects me to its home page. So the second paragraph of your OP makes no sense to me since Idk what you're talking about.

YT content is subject to region and country specific blocks, especially often for music, TV and movies. For this and other reasons including accessibility I politely request everyone to include at least text of artist and title of the YT. Typically all you need is an additional copy-paste from YT.

Once upon a time, I recall hearing Lionel Richie's "All Night Long" playing seemingly constantly.

I must've seen this video a jillion times on MTV back in the day.
Run DMC feat. Aerosmith: "Walk This Way"
I think the quoted text includes at least five things that are totally 80s.

Danielle Dax - "Cat House" from the album 'Dark Adapted Eye' (1988)

Art of Noise Close (To The Edit) version 1

Just to add to general wackiness:
My wife got a lemon plant for the conservatory, as the previous one died from mealy bug.
She said the new one was a completely different variety, where they graft the lemon tree bit onto some other root stock, a bit like with roses and European vines. "It's known as a Meyer," she said. Now, it being covered in yellow fruit as well, I called it "Dieter" as you do with plants around the house.
So, that makes Dieter a trans-plant? :p

I hear that's standard procedure for fruit trees, in particular apples. You can pretty much only buy Frankentrees bio-assembled from particularly robust root breeds and on top the fruit breed you want. Quite nifty, and interesting how that seems to work universally.

Anyway, this one isn't 80s but captures the spirit and sound quite nicely. A nostalgic love letter to old timey radio, from the album Apples and Synthesizers:

From the Lost Boys soundtrack, love the Echo & the Bunnymen version of People Are Strange of The Doors.
Being an 80´s teen (born in 1970), that version got me very interested in The Doors and look into their music with more interest.

I am a 1957 variety. And I think that Echo & the Bunnymen version is better than the original (not the way I usually think about original vs newer [unless it is a Bob Dylan song] {I like his songs but only when they are not sung by him}).
