my experience with these cables , it never survive more than a year.
I've had many tripowin Zonies and all have lasted fine. But I don't treat them hard, they don't get yanked much and I tend not to use outdoors etc. But not inherently weak.

Got the cable yesterday and it looks fine, not weak. Got it for 19,99€ on Amazon.

Is there a balanded y-splitter on the market to listen with 2 iems?
My girlfriend an I like lying on the beach an listening to good sounds.......

Not that I know of. You could make one yourself if you know how to solder.

Alternatively, phones have started adding support for BT output to multiple devices, so getting two BT receivers could be an option as well, with the advantage of less tangle and independent volume control.

Keep in mind that with a simple splitter, you'll ideally want to use two of the same IEM model to get roughly the same volume on each.

I just ordered these b/c they're on sale from Amazon for $20. I figure I can always use them when I go out to a coffee shop or to the gym. I have a couple of nice cables, so I will re-cable them as well as try Devinus Velvet and Azla Sednafit Lites on them to see what tips they like best. Should have them tomorrow.

The velvet wide bores work pretty good on them too. My favourite's still the spring tips though

While I own 2 of these I still feel the bass is a little too much for my taste. I am divided between the Zero 2 and the original Zero 1.

Agreed.
Somewhere in between is perfect for me:

My pair of Sony MDR-100AAPs recently broke again after I had previously repaired them twice and once replaced the cups.

I decided it was time to finally put them in the bin and buy a new set of over-ear headphones. After doing a tonne of research I decided to get a pair of Sennheiser HD 560s. They're the best headphones that I've ever owned. But this started a journey of upgrades!

I generally have two listening modes, either at home or on the go. When away from home I usually use either a 5.5g or 6g iPod Classic with rockbox and I can't use my new open back cans (due to sound leakage). So for this I've been using the Panasonic ErgoFit headphones for about 8 years and just replacing them whenever they break or get lost. I think I was initially using the RP-HJE120 but they became harder to find (discontinued?) and I switched at some point to the RP-HJE125.

There was no going back, I couldn't unhear how awful the Pansonic earbuds were and I decided to try and find a replacement set of earphones. I didn't want to spend as much as my 560s on beater earphones so first I tried the Truthear Hexa after many people had been singing their praises. They sounded awful to me and I returned them after 1 day.

I was starting to believe I was going to have to spend IE 200 money (approaching the price of my 560s) to get decent IEMs/earphones. I did a bunch more research and found these IEMs mentioned by someone on reddit. The price point of these is absolutely perfect. Only ~2x the cost of the Ergofits. I have to say I am extremely pleased with them as they sound so good.

I think I'm going to buy another pair and leave them in a draw for if/when this set ever breaks!

Hi and welcome.
if you like Zero 2, Hexa shouldn't sound awful at all, just a bit bass shy, so you most likely had bad fit issues with them that affected the result. I also had problem with Hexa and had to return them, while not having issue with all other iems I own. With iems it's just a matter of luck how they interact with you unique ear canals shape.

Guys if you have an android phone the app wavelet has a good correction curve for this iem, with wavelet the sound is even better.

I found that they had next to no bass at all, almost zero bass. Less bass than you would expect even from a reference audio device. I tried driving them with the Apple USB dongle, my Macbook and a Qudelix 5k and with multiple different tips and even forced them into my canal to make an undeniable seal! I was able to make the bass appear and get them sounding good only with EQ. I didn't want to have to rely on EQ all the time so I returned them.

I don't have a good explanation for why they sounded so thin to me but I really don't think its to do with the seal or tips.

Yes seal problems.
For my only biggest tips from spinfit solved the problem, now SQ is sublime.

Well, even if it was seal problems the fact that the Zero 2 doesn't have a "cartoon child" on the box and cost only 30% as much as the Hexa makes them the clear winner for me.
