Wanted to make a discussion thread for the Diablo/ Divine.
Received my Diablo yesterday. This is my third IEM, my first one was the Moondrop Chu, which I hated. Could have been many things, I don't remember tbh. My second IEM was the TRUTHEAR x Crinacle ZERO. My daily driver (Qudelix 5k + EQ). Using them with Spinfit CP155 (M), I am still amazed how good they are for the ~43€ I payed in November 2022. I'm writing this so you know that I don't really know what I'm talking about haha.
My first reaction trying the Diablo was a "that's it?". Not a great first impression, but also not surprising to me. It's less of a change then I would have wanted I guess, I know that doesn't work My sample size is small and I don't really know what I want from these, just wanted to try out that planar bass, as I listen mainly to D&B. Other genres would be psytrance, where the bass is my point of interest. More interesting will be the genres where I wont think about all this and get surprised.
I'm still warming up to the Diablo, fucking around with EQ and adjusting on vibe and some small understanding. I think I want more subbass, maybe less midrange? Until someone smarter then me builds some EQ profiles I'll be fucking around and finding out haha.
Tips don't really fit me I think, waiting on Spinfit Neo I ordered, looks like they are relatively new, hopefully they just fit perfectly and I don't have to bother with that anymore. Nozzle is 5.43mm, nozzle lip is 6.16mm, nozzle length (with lip) is 4.54mm.
I have 7 pairs, should've been 6, white + white stem and white + pink stem are the same I think.
Cable is visually good, but to stiff and bulky. The same with more thinner strands could be cool I think. But I'm not using the cable, trying two different cables out, with a microphone.
What really surprised me, how little energy they need to run. From the very unscientific tests I've done (switching back and forth), I need less then half mV on my Qudelix 5k for the same loudness with the Diablo compared to the Turthear Zero. That's ~-7db.
You know you've listend to much when you have condensation(?) on the filter mesh of the IEMs haha.
Manual talks about burn-in, I didn't expect that. Here's the manual snippet, with all it's flaws.
"We suggest using high-resolution lossless music such as DSD, FLAC, or WAV audio format.
To optimised listening experience, we recommend first burning-in the earphone at low volume for 10 to 30 hours. After which, gradually increase the volume until you have arrived at your normal listening level.
Continue to burn-in for another 100-200 hours."
What are you're impressions from either the Diablo/Divine? Maybe the Divine would be a better fit for me to EQ up but I thought EQing down would be better, also black shell is more my taste.
