I'm setting up an active system, with the XO in jriver. For that purpose, looking for a multi-channel dac with standard xlr out, but seems like only high-performing options are Okto (mini xlr) or the Topping DM7 (TRS). Actually Topping seems to be discontinued, so only Okto is available. Am I missing some option? Thanks!

Try to find Motu interface with enough output chenels that you need.

exaSound and pro devices like the Merging Hapi.

Trinnov Nova.

miniDSP Flex HT $599.

Or for more inputs the Flex HTx at higher cost.

If you don't mind using TRS to XLR cables, I've been very happy with the Motu Ultralite Mk 5. It has 10 analog outputs.

No remote control, but you can control it over the network via phone or laptop using the Cuemix app.

Also I just saw on another thread that HiFiBerry now has an 8-channel balanced DAC hat.

It uses a DB25 connector, so you would need to add a DB25 to XLR "snake".

Thank you all for the suggestions - a few I hadn't considered. The Exasound is lovely, but ouch$.
