Did anyone successfully use 3M Dual Lock to attach the rear V-shaped grille of Bose 901 VI?

The angle is my concern. Instead of pushing the two objects straight-on (the trajectory and the force being vertical to the surface), I would be pressing the two objects at an angle as in the drawing below. The speakers are not mine, and thus I want to be more careful in suggesting a solution.

Since the frame has a little bit of play, even in the stock configuration, I would have to squish the frame a tiny bit to fit. So in theory, you might get a good fit with a piece on the top/bottom as opposed to the face.

Sorry I did not clearly understand.
Did you mean using just some instead of all attaching points?

Apply to the lip of the wood instead of the black surfaces. Basically perpendicular to where you think it should go.

Sorry I didn't understand well. Do you mean just using the edges, without using adhesive, velcro, or 3M Dual Lock on the square black surfaces?
