3e Audio TPA3251 TPA3255 Finished Amplifier with PFFB is coming!

OK I think this issue is resolved, at least in my case
I have received the following advice from @Audiophonics

- turn off Volume Bypass (to enable volume control on the amp)
- set the volume on the amp to 10 hours
- increase the input signal to match the SPL to how it was with the volume bypassed (in my case I had to add 15dB to the sub channels in Jriver)

It works fine, the amps do not shut down even at low volume
I also checked with some movies, I am still fine with regards to digital headroom/clipping

Not sure if others can do the same but it works fine for me - I am really glad to be honest
The amps run so cool btw that I cannot believe it! All my other PFFB amps (A30A, PA7 Plus, V3 Mono) run so hot that I apply active cooling to them but the A7 Monos stay cool all the way!
Not really a "solution" is it, just a workaround - using the built-in volume control. Especially difficult for people with 2 or more A5 or A7 mono's as it'll be very hard to match the volume of different amps.

Hello Peter, can we say that you recommend the rme digiface + sabajA30a solution as still the best for an active multi-way speaker? is this still the solution you use?

Hello,
Yes, I still use those, really happy with them!

Here are my setups:

Downstairs, living room, main system:
miniDSP U-DIO8 --> three Sabaj A30A --> Sica coax active (4 channels) + two Markaudio CHN110 as rear speakers
--> SMSL DO100 Pro DAC --> two 3e Audio A7 Mono --> 2x15" and 4x8" DIY subs

Upstairs, home office (bedroom)
RME Digiface USB -->SMSL D-6 DAC --> Topping PA7 Plus --> Markaudio Pluvia 11 speakers
--> SMSL D-6 DAC --> Fosi V3 Mono --> 2x8" DIY sub

Will the next batch of A7 be available w/o power supply and/or with a 10A power supply (even if shipped separately)?

What's with the SOYYIN branding that is now shown on the amplifiers at e3 aliexpress store?

  1. next batch(firing now) will available end of Feb and will provide w/(48V/5A) and w/t SMPS.
  2. 48V/10A will sell separate
  3. we will keep use 3eAudio, SOYYIN is a new name translate from our Chinese trademark,we may consider use for further business like setup our amazon store.

That's your right, but it doesn't make sense to me as an outsider.

3e Audio is now a globally established brand that is in the process of gaining a reputation for high-quality products.
Think of 3M, for example, which everyone knows and which is also well-recognized in America and Europe, just as 3e Audio will be well-recognized.

SOYYIN sounds unusual to Europeans and Americans at first.
But of course it also depends on the main target group.
Worldwide, I think 3e Audio is the better choice.

Soyin is a toxic protein from soybeans.
Unknown enought that I don't think many will make that association.

And the study itself was quite interesting, the "toxicity" label came from earlier studies where they tried injecting the protein. The growth-inhibiting "toxicity" this paper talks about disappears when they equalize for food intake: "Equalization of food intake failed to reveal any significant differences in the growth of rats receiving diets with or without soyin" and "Growth impairment by soyin was attributed to a decrease in the quantity of food consumed."
And they conclude
Whether soyin simply affects the palatability of the ration or creates some metabolic disturbance which leads to diminished appetite can not be answered at the present time. It is interesting to note that Osborne and Mendel ('17) attributed the poor growth of rats on raw soybean meal to their failure to consume this meal as readily as the heated meal.

So it sounds like uncooked soy just taste like crap due to this specific protein.

No Brand, just model is better ;)

  1. Yes.
  2. auto-off disabled is under review by FW engineer.
will cycle back soon.
just to confirm that i got you right.

In the new batch the input sensivity for the auto on function is changed?

Kind regards

Excellent amplifier SINAD 104.7dB, by sound like topping pa5 II, the only drawback is the volume control, at low volume there is an imbalance of channels, also after 2 months of operation at low volume the control began to wheeze, there is a bypass mode to turn off the control - this is convenient if you need volume control on the DAC.

Real power 70.5W at THD 1% at a load of 8 ohms.

The square looks good up to 20 kHz.

Convenient function of automatic shutdown and activation by a signal from the sound card, made a shutdown timer of 20 minutes instead of the factory 5 minutes, now you do not have to wait 5 seconds without sound until the amplifier wakes up. There is practically no heating of the case, especially in comparison with topping pa5 II which noticeably heats up. There is a gain switch + 3dB for the RCA input, convenient if you have a weak signal source such as a phone or laptop.

The kit includes tweezers for quick replacement of operational amplifiers through the holes in the bottom of the case, but after listening and measuring in RMAA it becomes clear that the standard opa1656 work great.

Excellent results, thankyou for testing. I also have the A5se and have a question regarding the opamps; did it ship with the 1656's or did you swap them in?

What a mistake !

But why did they remove the TRIGGER 12 ?

For my part, the failure concerning the imbalance of low volume levels is simply not at all acceptable.... :(

3eAudio had accustomed us to excellence

A digital volume control would have made them lose a little in the SINAD ranking but a quality potentiometer should have been used in a device of this class (and this PRICE !)

I think that a revision of the models should be considered regarding these two essential points because by solving these two problems, customers would be satisfied to have a 'near-perfect' device even if a slight increase in pricing were to be applied naturally (but it is not necessary ;) ).

How should these graphs be read/interpreted ?
