3e Audio TPA3251 TPA3255 Finished Amplifier with PFFB is coming!

just received my unit in singapore. its a nice amp, haven try opamp rolling yet. gonna change the thermal paste soon and probably gonna buy fiio k11 r2r.

I would like the next version to have a toggle switch like the topping pa7, three positions: 1. On, 2. On with auto-trigger and auto-sleep support, 3. Power Off

Has anyone received it? If possible, I would appreciate it if you could share your personal experience.

Received my A5 yesterday. Smaller than I expected. Coming from a SMSL AO200 MKII, can't tell the difference except maybe the A5 sounds better at high volume, might be placebo.

Anyway, the auto on/off is a little frustrating. It turns off while I'm playing video games. I'm currently playing Alan Wake II, and when I'm running around solving puzzles, it'll auto off on me even though there's sounds like rain and footsteps. This is with my MiniDSP Flex set to - 34 dB.

Any way to make it more sensitive? I wish the auto off was 30 minutes or a switch to have it on always. I may have to switch back to my previous Amp.

Yikes! That's not too good. Hope this can be solved.

miniDSP Flex balanced or unbalanced? If unbalanced, you could try whether the low/high gain setting has an influence on auto input sensing.

The A5 is in bypass mode, I assume? If it's "only" for gaming (not critical listening) you could set the A5 in volume control mode and set it to a lower level like 30% to 50% and increase the output of the miniDSP flex. This should help.

Flex to optical SMSL M500 MKIII to balanced A5.

Yes in bypass. The Flex is also controlling volume to subs, so volume control on the A5 is not an option for me.

Just received my A5 in Singapore and been listening to them (Laptop>Equalizer APO>Motu M2>3e A5>JBL A170). First impression is they are audibly better than the Yamaha A-S300 that I've been using previously. This current budget setup is so good that I don't really feel a need to stretch for a sub or 2 at least in the modest living room. One thing to note though- the A5 does get quite warm in the tropical temperatures here, but not alarmingly so

OK, in that case you're probably SOOL.

Get less sensitive speakers. ;) Or place them further from you. :p

This is why there are still users who prefer the 12V trigger over automatic audio sensing.
In my opinion, 3e-audio made a mistake by removing the 12V trigger.

Yup, it's the absence of 12V trigger why I have refrained from ordering it right away...

I asked for it to be included in their poll, but seems like there were too few of us

Sorry for this inconvenience, input signal lower than 4mV with balance input, calculate the 17dB gain in A5,your speaker just output 30mVrms which is quite low.
in your case i will suggest set few dB higher gain in your DSP if -34dB is not a MUST.
other way is use volume control on the A5 side and turn to Max (which is same performance as bypass)for normal listening.

My A5 arrived today and not more than about 15 minutes in, it starts making a randomly-occurring staticky popping noise. Happens just once or twice every now and then, and sometimes it just does machine-gun popping multiple times a second. It is also is very loud and also is not proportionate to the level of the input signal.

A typical speaker produces 87dBSPL at 2.83V, 1m. 30mV is about -40dB from that, so about 50dBSPL depending on distance and room gain.
That is still a bit higher than I would like the threshold to be.
And then there are speakers with high sensitivity.
