3e Audio / Alsozone Multi-Channel Amp - Owner's Thread, for
User Impressions
Issues observed, if any

Usage/setup Suggestions/Opinions
-------------------------------------------------

Note that there is also another thread "https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...el-amp-which-one-you-would-like-to-own.67985/" where 3e Audio introduced these new amplifiers.
If members prefer to keep using manufacturer's post for the same purpose as this thread then I would ask mod to delete this one later as don't want to duplicate a thread.

Quick thoughts

The unit is easily the smallest 8 channel Amp I have ever seen.

The banana plugs have a satisfying click to them. Also means that you have to use plugs and can’t run bare wire as far as I can see. I personally love using banana plugs but I am sure some people might not be happy about that decision. 8 pairs of banana plugs are included with the unit, please see the attached picture.

The tiny green Plastic tab to remove the plastic on the front plate is useless and ripped right off without removing the plastic.

The LEDs aren’t obnoxiously bright but all the LEDs seem to be lit up even though I am only running 4 channels currently.

Infrared thermometer shows the case to be warm to touch at 40.3 degrees after I guess it remained on all night.

Sound wise it seems brilliant. I cannot tell the difference between this and the Stereo A7 while powering my Ascilab C6B and Philharmonic BMR V2 Monitors. Admittedly I do not have golden ears. I seem to be able to raise the volume to hearing loss levels without issue. I also can’t tell any audible difference between this and the Buckeye 3 channel Purifi(2nd Gen) amp that’s used in my Home theater setup downstairs. This amp is being paired with my Marantz Cinema 60 as the processor.

If anyone needs more pictures, just let me know. IMO this is a pretty great deal considering the competition and how relatively small the unit is.

if using Auto mode, you don’t need to use the front power button. It will bypass the auto setting and power all the channel.

Congrats and Thanks @monsterlag for pics and quick observations.
Do those red LEDs always ON or is it clipping indicator?
What is low and high mode settings? Is it low/high power output switch for both inputs or 3dB RCA boost?

@3eaudio
The casework looks good for the size and loads of vents for airflow.
Wondering if internal pictures are available to share here? It could help others not to itch for opening up their units for internals.

Top LED is for clipping and bottom LED indicates what channels are active. They are on as long as the Channel is active.

My stereo and mono A7's are performing LCR duty admirably. Was following the announcement thread, entertaining the idea of upgrading to a single package if 3E released a 3 channel version. Alas, the 6-channel minimum at $700 USD with no shipping to Canada brought me to my senses. Seeing the spread of votes across the various configurations makes me realize that appeasing us consumers is not easy. I'm sure the new amps perform flawlessly and I hope the two chosen configurations sell well.
(I know 3E Audio's beauty is on the inside, but the "ALSOZONE" in big white block lettering across the face looks cheap.)

Update: A 3-channel version is now available on Amazon.com.

I bit the bullet on the pam254. Will post impressions when I receive it. Currently running a stereo A7. I'll be transitioning to active in the near future, and the absence of 12v trigger on the a7 really bugs me. Also interested in seeing what others do to obscure that unsightly "ALSOZONE" insignia. It's a pretty handsome little amp otherwise. Excited to get my hands on it

Just saw the Alsozone offers on amazon. The 2-channel is a bit cheaper as an A7 with proper 48v10a psu.

Are there measurements or comparisons with the external psu models? I blindly assume they use the same amp design internally, just with internal psu, no volume, different case to accomodate all channel options in one design.

According to the data 3E Audio has published so far, the desktop amplifiers and the new multi-channel amplifiers do not differ in measurements or performance, which I also consider very likely.

However, keep in mind that even the small multi-channel enclosures are significantly larger than the A models.

No doubt when the external psu is "near" the size of an A7. It has to go somewhere.

I see these more as offers for racks and not to put them on a desk.

How has others' experience been with the 12v trigger input? When my wiim toggles the amp off, only one of the lights shuts off. Not exactly sure what that indicates. Didn't see anything in the manual
