Still trying to hear some differences between the NC502MP and the A7 but it seems impossible, frustrating…, can’t wait to get someone else to try, hopefully soon.

I got my A7 stereo with 48v 10 amp power supply two weeks ago. My friend owns NC502MP based amplifier and another Purifi amp. I took the little A7 to his house and we started comparing. The difference was minimal at best. It felt like the mids were slightly fuller on A7 compared to the other amps but it was so, so close that I am not even sure now. In my setup I connected the A7 to Topping DX5 ii DAC/AMP and WIIM Ultra streamer/preamp. 3e Audio A7 is a winner. It will stay in my system.

You won't be able to hear the differences if they are throttled upstream. Try using better cables

Lol I added an emoji from my phone keyboard forgetting it wouldn't arrive on the forum
Yes. Amir's fear for even basic emojis can be a bit of a problem. And as you said, you won't even notice that it gets stripped from your response when using your virtual keyboard. Not until it is saved, at least.

I'd like to use the appropriate emoji right here, but instead I have to write: LOL.

;)

Just out of interest, which Purify amp?

You are right that those will sound just about the same but in the same time blind test is hard to do it right. I would not think A7 is any bit slightly fuller in mids. I even doubt that Knippel NFS can detect the difference of same speaker powered by those three amps

A7 is definitely a winner if you consider performance/price. Purifi based is no holding back on budget/end game to many. NC502MP is for people who (think they) need a lot of power while not as big budget for Purifi. All there should work well.

I wish a7 is more widely distributed in EU. Right now they are audiophonics exclusive which makes it somewhat harder to get (additional shipping cost, less sale)

I wanted the A7 without power supply because I already had one 10 amp GAN. But it was at full price on Amazon USA. So I sent them a message to ask when/if they are going to put them on sale. They responded the next day and I was shocked 3e audio offered me a coupon for $42 off the full price. Yes, In EU the supply is somewhat limited. I just checked the website you mentioned audiophonics and the price is too high. I guess the best alternative would be something like Aiyima A20, which is more versatile in some ways. Dedicated sub out and HPF filter is very nice. And when on sale the A20 is unbeatable. I was going back and forth but decided to get 3e audio A7. I can use the sub out from the Wiim Ultra. There are two negatives I need to mention. First, if you open the A7, at least the US version, the warranty is void. Whyyy?! Everyone else is fine with opening their amps. Yes, there are two holes for changing opamps but it's not very easy or convenient especially if you want to put large opamps. Somebody just like me might want to change the thermal paste or something else. You get the point. The second are the rubber feet. Two of the four fell down immediately when I opened the retail box. I immediately purchased different ones at my hardware store. And the rubber feet should have been taller for better heat dissipation. The sound is really good, though. It's a keeper for me.

It is actually advised against. Many amps have "no user serviceable parts" sticker to discourage people from opening. Many amps have high voltage AC inside and one mistake could be very costly.

Unless you know what you are doing, don't open your amps.
Alright, some of them like Douk audio, Aiyima and Fosi allow opening because changing opamps is part of their marketing strategy. But many more traditional audio companies don't allow it. And yes, if you don't know what are you doing it could be dangerous.

...got mine from amazon.de...
But only shipped to Germany. Also, under "generic" brand. Compared to the like of Fosi, Aiyama etc. they are very limited.
I can understand that they might have signed an exclusive deal with audiophonics. Still wish it was free shipping, free return :)

OK..I must admit I haven´t checked other Amazon sides ;-)

As much as I like the A7 there´s one thing which annoys me a little: that it starts a bit delayed when I choose a song. Hence - from my point of view - it´s a shame that the 12V trigger option has been waived.

Not sure if there´s a trick to overcome this "annoyance" ;-)

Does the delay happen all the time? Or does the amp go into a sort of power saving mode if it's idle for a while?

Haven't read through all the topic, this is what AI says
"The 3E Audio A7 (TPA3255) amplifier features an automatic audio-sensing standby mode, which in some models enters standby after 5 minutes of no detected audio."

@peng Both experiences also frustrate me as someone wanting to upgrade from the new Mini 300 :p
