2V output vs 4V output

My graham slee solo ul headphone amplifier input sensitivity is 511mv Rms. Does it mean i should not use Topping D30 because its rca output is 2v

Input sensitivity and overload are two completely different things.

One is the rated input in mV to achieve the rated output in V usually measured at the full volume position. It is a function of the design gain/output.
Overload is the maximum input in mV or V the preamplifier can take without overloading the input stage. Volume pot position can be at various positions, not necessarily the full volume position.

A 150mV input sensitivity preamplifier may be able to quite happily take many volts before overloading or clipping, just as a rated preamplifier output of 1,1.5,2 or 4V may be considerably greater at actual clipping.

I have plenty of preamplifiers that can swing well over 10V even though they are rated at 1.5-2.0V with a 125mV sensitivity.

The Slee probably has the volpot before the amplifier so it just means you won't be able to use the full volpot range unless you dial down the volume on the PC a bit.

Actually i can listen to music even pc and amp volume at max without ear bleeding

Ear bleeding usually isn't fun... :)

If it goes loud enough and distortion free and you got good volpot adjustability it's all O.K.

Question about DAC output voltages: I have 2 DACs, a SMSL D1 and just recently purchased Schiit Modi 5. Both specify in the specs that they have 2V rms outputs. But, the D1 is much louder than the Modi. So, I’m wondering why the D1 can be louder and the Modi sounding much lower even though the output voltages are the same. My setup is very simple: Coaxial output from my CD player into the DAC and the RCA outputs to the Headphone Amp.

Are you sure that there is no digital volume trim in Modi?
