My graham slee solo ul headphone amplifier input sensitivity is 511mv Rms. Does it mean i should not use Topping D30 because its rca output is 2v
Input sensitivity and overload are two completely different things.
One is the rated input in mV to achieve the rated output in V usually measured at the full volume position. It is a function of the design gain/output.
Overload is the maximum input in mV or V the preamplifier can take without overloading the input stage. Volume pot position can be at various positions, not necessarily the full volume position.
A 150mV input sensitivity preamplifier may be able to quite happily take many volts before overloading or clipping, just as a rated preamplifier output of 1,1.5,2 or 4V may be considerably greater at actual clipping.
I have plenty of preamplifiers that can swing well over 10V even though they are rated at 1.5-2.0V with a 125mV sensitivity.
