2nd generation EIGENTAKT PURIFI 1ET6525SA (successor to the 1ET400A)

They changed from
1 channel
ET eigentakt technology
400 watts into 4 ohms
A amplifier

to
1 channel
ET eigentakt technology
65 volts input
25 amps output max
S single? that is, not bridged
A amplifier

another one
1 channel
ET eigentakt technology
90 volts input
40 amps output max
B bridged
A amplifier
Thank you.

and the older it isn't? :)
Already inaudible THD and some watts less, means something?
(I'm not against improvements, but we need to maintain our foots in the ground :) )

I agree, you are 100% correct, even my current amp Parasound A21 is fine but I do like the novelty of having the latest and greatest :)

... my current amp Parasound A21 is fine ...

That's a really good class ab amplifier ... congrats. With "standard" sensibility speakers / room size / SPL I don't think you'll find any difference in a ABX test.

Yeah, you are probably right

Here is the little beast

Since it's red instead of green, we know for sure that it's faster.
Specs are better.

The Green 1ET400A board has a much smoother, cool sensation to the ears. I'll stay with my old Purifi. Too much pepper in the Red 6525SA sound. :D

So that's where sound coloring finally comes from after all these years: PCB color.

I think the green PCB sounds more natural, organic; while the red PCB definitely sounds warmer, even spicier.

Would you say the noise floor is significantly improved over the 1ET400A module, so would be best for highly sensitive horn tweeter designs, as they tend to exacerbate tweeter hiss, with the 1ET400A it still exhibits moderate hiss, so would the 2nd generation 1ET6525SA & 1ET9040BA modules be significantly improved in such situations?

Noise floor of the DAC + amp system is in case of SOTA devices usually defined by DAC output noise x amplifier gain. Rather than by the amp noise itself.

1ET6525SA residual noise is almost divided by two when compared to the 1ET400A. That's a signifiant improvement that puts even more emphasis on the importance of the amplifier's input stage and, as written by @pma, the upstream components residual noise.
