By law they must accept cash. This is not something to be celebrated.
That is, assuming cash is no longer accepted.

Same goes here, but the banks really want people to only use digital structures, and some venture capital owned businesses have had a go at it refusing cash payments, followed by clear statements to the contrary from the judicial system. Further, some services charges more when have to deal with cash. By wording and practice, it is not an discount for paying digitally, they actually state they charge extra for cash.By law they must accept cash.
Sweden recently made a statement about that: Keep cash to be aware of crisis. Before they proclaimed to cease cash completely, though.Same goes here, but the banks really want people to only use digital structures, and some venture capital owned businesses have had a go at it refusing cash payments, followed by clear statements to the contrary from the judicial system. Modern warfare is about hurting supply chains and all kinds of infrastructure, it is being done by all big players, and if the access to own money is cut, it has an extremely serious effect on all societies, none being immune. Everyone with common sense should keep and use cash to caretake own contigency and further to ensure that banks and businesses keeps the infrastructure for handling cash intact. When a cat 5 hurricane hits Florida or the states bordering Gulf of Mexico, cash is king.
Define "law"?By law they must accept cash.
Sleepwalkers. 3 countries are fairly awake these days, Poland, Germany and Finland. A typical advise from governments would be to keep cash/food and so on for a 1 week (or two tops) of trouble. That's meagre for the scenarios they play with in other settings. Trouble is, the ones having meaningful access and influence with politicians are the influencers (because that'a what lobbyists are), and that's who they are listening to for the long term stuff. Beyond that, they are only making short term decisions if at all, based upon what happened yesterday, it's a short term popularity contest, and not 1-2 years or more ahead.Sweden recently made a statement about that: Keep cash to be aware of crisis. Chinese law.Define "law"?![]()
Back a while ago that wasn’t the case though, they promoted cash as very ancient thing and everything only using app payment is very advanced so there was a period where literally you can buy anything with cashChinese law.
There are youtubers who paid with cash. While this surprised the vendor, and they had to scramble to find change, the rule worked.
In the same boat. But that is still just the best of the available affordable options. Maybe we need a data/music storage thread...In real world should last longer but it’s just in theory, and much like sudden cut of power of HDD in the old days, with music files you won’t want bit corruption and IME it’s like CDs, one might put it in the rack for years and suddenly wanted to dig it out to enjoy. The thing I wanted to say was just SSD as much as they seems solid, the data retention is kind of worse than HDD and physical discs. And more importantly the size of music files won’t remotely need the SSD’s main strength of transfer speed, so personally I will always put them in a NAS with spinning discs
Mine was hell. The audio would hang every 10 minutes, forcing it to reboot, taking 5 minutes to do that. I think it took 3 hours to watch a 90 minute movie! On the way back, the system worked better so I watched another movie there. Otherwise, I had pre-downloaded my own videos which I watched. And slept the rest of the way.Welcome back! I just got here yesterday and man the entertainment optiona on my plane this time was not too great or is it just that nothing good comes out anymore... I was almost temped to watch the harry Potter series... Almost....
Good that you are safe and sound! Just saying that drop out thing sounded like an episode of air disaster where the entertainment system was on fireMine was hell.
