Just came across this long article on the 2026 AES Automotive Audio Conference in Detroit on audio express.com:

Haven't finished reading, but the first half already contains som much information that I think some ASR members should find it interesting, including mention of a presentation by Sean Olive.

(This was in the daily.audio aggregator site - worth checking out for those who like cast the net wide for audio equipment and related articles.)

IMHO, an automovile is the worst place where to place an audio equipment. Firstly, because it distracts the attention from the transit causing unrepairable consequences; second, the acoustics aren't the best, nor designed with this objective; and third, the unsane levels of power some guy put inside their cars, cause the soldered joints to fail, and some insurance companies refuse to admit them as clients, or at least it is said here.

Perhaps my point of view has a bias from me, because I don't drive cars nor I will do; strongly prefeer bike for short distances (say <10km) or bus or railroad for longuer ones.
Moreover, I HATE CARS AS ITSELF.
