For me, I really enjoyed hearing Skeletal Wings, a promotional song released for the mobile game Arknights. The sound design, vocals, and fingerstyle are wonderful to hear and perhaps somewhat shocking coming from a gacha game.
Speaking of RAYE.

This time it was easy. This is without a doubt the best song of 2025. Fun, good groove, jazzy, funky with soul. :D

Probably a second choice/tie for me, but someone has already submitted it  Here is my favorite recording of Where Is My Husband out of the ones I've heard on youtube:

since there is no official prohibition against submitting two proposals and a few people have already done so, we cannot forget about these two legends:

and it's worth mentioning that to complete the impression, the visual side is equally amazing, thanks to the presence of the third legend ;)

Well that’s a good question,
however there are some favorites in different genres. e.g.
Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd (Acoustic Cover) - YouTube
Top Gun Anthem Cover
Kaleida - Stranger (is also on their 2025 album)
Another Day In Paradise (from the Hulu Original Show "Paradise")

Unfortunately the following one is already nine years old, otherwise it would be my favorite one as I just discovered it:
Skyrim - The Dragonborn Comes - Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra / Sabina Zweiacker
A 2025 version of The Elder Scrolls would be from the DR Koncerthuset The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim // The Danish National Symphony Orchestra featuring Eivør (Live) - YouTube, unfortunate this version is not as good as the one with Sabrina Zweiacker. But DR Koncerthuset in general is a recommendation.

BTW: Following a very nice and extended playlist:

As I only have to choose one track, it is
A small setup, good performance and audio quality!

The Greek masters Naxatras are back with the official music video for 'Numenia', a sonic journey that confirms their incredible evolution. Moving beyond the pure lo-fi sounds of their early days, the band draws us into a dreamlike, layered atmosphere where psychedelic grooves meet progressive openings of rare elegance. The video perfectly complements the track, creating a complete sensory experience that feels suspended in time. If you love cosmic soundscapes and top-tier musicianship, this is a must-watch.

With the year coming to an end, time is to nominate a track that was released in 2025 that captured your heart more than any other.

Please post a link to the video or the track so members can listen to it without searching.

Whoever's video gets the highest number of likes gets a free piece of audio gear from me! Yes, earlier entries get more likes so best to post yours soon! :)

Contest will close in 2 weeks (January 15th, 12:00am Pacific Standard Time).

For me the one stand out is this original track by the pianist and youtuber, Emilio Piano featuring delightful, talented, young singer, Lucie:

Happy participating and voting! And discovering new music for non participants.

Yeah, she is something else. A voice that is fragile and can still put a complete orchestra in its place.

This must be why I mostly stick with music from the 1970s.

The era of corporate rock. Hate it. Never listen to anything before 1980.

I've listened to everything posted and only given two 'likes' so far. This must be why I mostly stick with music from the 1970s. :)

Taste in music is an odd thing.
The era of corporate rock. Hate it. Never listen to anything before 1980.
Here's one that agrees with you but with one exception, watch from 1:20 to 5:20:

I'm worried this is a rickroll.
Nah, nope. He has good taste Andy Edwards.;)
As I said earlier in thread, #38, it was easy to choose the best of 2025.:)

Or actually in joint first place for me are songs in #21 and in #38. Different styles but both really good.:)

Sorry about that. Unfortunately, not something I could tell beforehand (or at least that I knew).
Here is the Apple Music link to the Song.
This is highly ironic as Mac DeMarco is Canadian.
If you want to try and fix your post, here are the video IDs I have for "Holy": "8UsYLb3O8fI" from his channel, and "Ifcs0LFCTog" on KEXP. Not to be too crude, but the KEXP video is the one I respect, while the other one is the usual junk, visually speaking, of course.
I do like the track.

Hardly. The music was original and artist driven before 1980. But to get the world to hear it, you had to be screwed over by a corporation. And that's not a critique of capitalism, but just of how the music business worked.
But the problem has been solved. Now the corporations create the music. They have a stable of songwriters that they hook up with the Sabrina Carpenter's and Rhiannon's of the world and it's one big happy family working in a music factory. Soon the songwriters will be replaced by musical school graduates on salary, using AI.
There are still originals that come along, like Billie Eilish and Madison Cunningham, who make it, and literally hundreds of great artists, who often flame out after a few years.

Best concert last year::)

The two best Black Sabbath covers that resulted from that concert:

And Jack Black performed alongside a teenage band consisting of Roman Morello (son of Tom Morello), Revel Ian (son of Scott Ian), Yoyoka Soma, and Hugo Weiss:
(according to AI and it seems to be true)

Good versions but I don't think cover versions are something to vote on in this thread. Or what do you think?
