For allowing me to say that I occasionally listen to country music (;-) - not really

So much retro feeling!

Gosh didn't know she put something out in 25! Miss the old Goldfrapp. This sounds like something that would have been on the Head First album. Thanks for surfacing it for me!

This one did it for me.
Yeah - this will be the winner. Not something I'd queue up, but one can recognize special, when one hears it.

Oklou, choke enough: “Thank You for Recording” is minimal, fragile, and deeply atmospheric. For me, the physical world disappears, and only the music remains.
Hmmm - thank you for sharing - in the Tidal queue for a listen.

Discovered this, as many other things, by reading about it online. The old fashioned way, someone recommended it, the way they talked about it intrigued me and I searched for it.

"Blue" Gene Tyranny, Out of the Blue (1977). The whole album should be listened to on repeat... but this track, "Leading a Double Life", had me crying midway the first time I encountered it, and I couldn't understand why. Just kills me every time. Avant Garde, but not as we know it. By far, my most listened to record in 2025.

Patricia Wolf is an ambient musician friend. This is from her first movie score. The filmmaker reminisces on growing up in Iceland with historic family material and new shots.

A great place to discover new talent is the KEXP live in-studio shows. They do a good job of finding rising talent.

With the year coming to an end, time is to nominate a track that was released in 2025 that captured your heart more than any other.

Please post a link to the video or the track so members can listen to it without searching.

Whoever's video gets the highest number of likes gets a free piece of audio gear from me! Yes, earlier entries get more likes so best to post yours soon! :)

Contest will close in 2 weeks (January 15th, 12:00am Pacific Standard Time).

For me the one stand out is this original track by the pianist and youtuber, Emilio Piano featuring delightful, talented, young singer, Lucie:

And a more personal version:

Happy participating and voting! And discovering new music for non participants.
looked up the tidal version, although not my usual type of music, it's really impressive on the 8030C in a horrible room
