Got it. So the 2025 in the title is just a suggestion. It's a discussion forum! In that case, look out for my dessert recipes I will post in those AVR threads. When the mods come for me, I’ll just tell them I’m following the 'Burt Bacharach Precedent' you just established. Thanks for the green light to turn this place into a mess.
Guy doesn't take hints. Time for ignore.

Ummm.. there is this musician that I have always respected; since his early years, where he would do stand-up rap onstage against other rappers.
His attitudes and songs have always been culturally-relevant to a mass audience.

Unfortunately, I discovered that I cannot support his current (2025) political views, and will refrain from posting his latest youtube drops, featuring 50Cent, SnoopDog, LilWayne, IceCube, DrDre, Lamar, (etc.). You can dig them out yourself, if you are so inclined.

Though, I will post the following, as I still respect him as a musician:
Eminem - Sing for the Moment2 (2025 explicit music video)

There's an interesting subtext throughout the thread on recent music versus that of 50 years ago. To me, it's still relevant to discuss Burt Bacharach in 2025. Much more interesting to me than some other posts. But I don't mind messy. I skim and move on, and don't moderate when that's not my job.
I have noted that your posts tend to be aggressive. Lighten up. It's an enjoyable, but fairly meaningless straw poll.

I'll suggest to you as well that a thread with only YouTube video posts, will get people posting their videos, and very few watching them.

It's the discussion that makes it interesting and draws attention.

OK, a couple of more songs, the first one only has a live version so far

Pretty good too:

I'm not averse to tangents, and I'd even be mildly curious to know why someone would call that music 'sophisticated'. But in this thread? Not so much. The 'modern music is shite compared to [historical cohort/dead artist I like]' horse can be beaten back to life somewhere else, surely.

My mum likes Eminem. :)

Mildly curious to know what he said in 2025 that was different from 2024, but this isn't the place.

A great guy who created his own sound using an "electric harp". The bass tones are also from this instrument. During the pandemic he put mini concerts from home on Youtube, also worth a listen. This live performance is from 2025:

And for those of you who long for the 70's, just listen to this fantastic band. Not eligable for voting but a nice break from the easy tunes produced these days:

This live recording of the original band was put on Youtube in 2025 (not eligible for voting, the concert is older..).

OK this my second and last track posted here. Tamebsz by Angine de Poitrine (Angina Pectoris). In short, listening to them is a bit like experiencing a sudden bout of tachycardia: it is destabilizing and leaves you breathless, but the adrenaline rushing through you is contagious. They won the 'Artist of the Year' award at the 2024 GAMIQ (Quebec's independent music awards), a testament to how much of a cult phenomenon they have become. Please note the microtonal guitars.

It's like a mix of the band Ghost with a stage show somewhere between a circus and a clown. The musicians are pretty good.

At first look I thought of Buckethead

About "Angine de poitrine" = Angina pectoris (from French to English.)
This is a Microtonal Dada-Pythago-Cubist Rock Orchestra band lol It's art for art's sake, in a way. :)

And if you like it, you can vote for the original band since this live recording was put on Youtube in 2025 (hope that counts, the concert is older..).
It doesn't. Man the rules are not complex.

Enough of the plinky plunky audiophile stuff :) Get a load of these two Aussie bands. My top finds for 2025 !

Frenzee (Melbourne via Greece with some serious traditional musical heritage from Crete - you may not believe that when you see this song but look them up, it’s true)

The Maggie Pills: Melbourne via Venezuela

Is the guitar riff from Hyper active Motorhead's Ace of Spades? Or am I crazy?
