Fully agree. Previously, I was changing the amps like every 1-2 years getting closer and closer to the ultimate sound quality: LM3886-> Class AB NAD->Cambridge Audio-> TI Class D NAD->Audiolab etc. And it was never good enough. I upgraded those amps adding more electrolytic caps, replacing error correction opamps with the top TI chips, plus making the negative feedback as deep as possible just before the whole amp start oscillating.
But since I built Purifi-based amp 4 years ago, I forgot it that it even exists. It just feels like a fully transparent component, like a piece of wire between my DAC and the speakers.
