Hey that is interesting stuff! Meyer did the best-sounding PA I ever heard, at Alpine Valley for Jeff Healey + Little Feat + Stevie Ray Vaughan. And YES the show was jaw-droppingly greatMeyer Sound's Ultra Reflex

No highs and no lows... It's gotta be BoseHow they look was never the issue. The fact that Bose 901 series I could suck any amp dry was an issue along with no lows and no highs.
That's kind of a funny one because actually they had the lows (the sub module) and the highs (the tiny cubes) and it was the like 100-200 Hz that was missing. For normal people that Acoustimass system likely sounded great-one of my MBA class groups met a member's apartment, he put on a movie, rumble and hiss and everything, sounded like a movie. A more conventional system with bigger speakers and subwoofer could sound better but in the absence of any comparison the Bose setup sounded great. I would have been curious to hear music on it but we never did.No highs and no lows... It's gotta be Bose
True, it did a lot for what it was. Back in the day the Acoustimass became so ubiquitous, it kinda spawned the phrase. I have clients that won't even put that up anymore... "Oh, my wife likes Alexa..." is what I hear. That's kind of a funny one because actually they had the lows (the sub module) and the highs (the tiny cubes) and it was the like 100-200 Hz that was missing. Actually in these days of tiny drivers, you'd think they'd have developed such expertise...I guess they do sell Bluetooth speakers. I wonder if sales of Acoustimass have gone the way of the dodo, as has most HiFi?haven’t done much with loudspeakers for so long
I think Bose recognizes the Acoustimass concept flaws and if it’s not dead it should be. Trying to make a subwoofer fill in a massive portion of 80Hz-300Hz(???) or whatever was silly. The cubes were an absolute joke. But what do I know? people bought them like candy at Halloween. I suspect they have learned from Sonos and will look at ways to be more relevant to people who appreciate sound quality. The new 901 is not a tiny box. $$$$$Bring to another generation? Why?
Just to be clear: at this point, we've only seen this Kith collab, which isn't ever going on sale?
If Bose is spending marketing money on this, I guess the question is whether it's simply for brand awareness, or actually hinting toward a new 901 Series product?
It could be interesting if McIntosh and Sonus faber were involved, but they would have been brought in too late to be involved with product development I guess
It looks like it includes and amplifier and the box which is probably a version of the Bose Streaming Amplifier as a preamp.
The new 901 is not a thing, it's not even for sale really. As for Sonos they seemed great conceptually but the ones I've heard somehow sound I don't know how to describe it, flat. Not just a lack of bass but not super clear above that, like compressed. But they are the new Bose in some sense yes good observation.I suspect they have learned from Sonos and will look at ways to be more relevant to people who appreciate sound quality. Anything that brings more customers into this dying hifi market is a positive in my book.Bring to another generation? Why?

I haven't heard that, I wonder if I know anyone with one. The Bluetooth speaker I like is the long-discontinued JBL Control X Wireless-not full range bass from a 5" woofer but the mids and highs quite clear. That's what I need in some kind of not-too-deep monitor situation, also capable of high output and ideally a fair amount of directivity. A unicorn in other words...Listen to the Era 300. Among the Sonos line, it has the least compression
