2 x Fosi V3 + 2 x 10A 48V psu - what the hell?

Sure buddy, sure :D
Which of the three statements you find problematic.

1) The squeak is obvious on a mobile phone speaker (it is).
2) My mobile phone speaker must be a transparent system (it is not), because it passes your transparency test.
3) The song starts with a similar squeak, which I hear even on my mobile phone without you telling me it is there (it does)

:) I do hear it as well as anyone that visits me. Fosi's out :)

Well, I am glad you at least have amps you like then. I'll be happy to pay a nominal price of one dollar plus shipping in case you choose to rid them. Obviously, being an honest person, you would not charge big money for obviously broken amplifiers.

My TV could use a better amp.

I do not think they are broken. They are what they are.

Well, I guess you don't want them then. Anyone else interested? :)
I think you missed the point, which is that there's nothing special these days about transparent DACs and amps. So if you're giving away a pair of broken v3 monos for free then of course I would take them, because I like to fix thing!

So apologies if my humour upset you, I simply took your offer at face value and wasn't expecting to have to jump through hoops. I understand if you don't really want to give them away, because they're superb little amplifiers, powerful and transparent, and if they're not broken then you will easily get half your money back or more by selling them on eBay for someone else to enjoy

Yes, things you notice without someone telling you "hey, focus on second 33 of the song." :) Real transparent systems that image well become holographic and get you involved with the music. With fosi, it's all just plain and uninvolving with highs that pearce ears. For example in this song, highs sound distorted with fosi where they sound perfectly fine with topping la90 or any other amp I have:

That is the song that made me permanently remove fosi from my systems.

I see you are a fellow JBL man. :)

I tested the BlutEngel song on my sound system and found a natural tone with zero distortion on the highs. While it's definitely not the best recording quality out there, the overall playback is completely clean and crisp. JBL L82 MkII - great speakers!

JBL for the win! :-)

Yes, the production of that song leaves a lot to desire.
