2-way with wide dispersion and low distortion. Linear CTA-2034. Mechano26

In fact, I'm still trying to play with the measurements, which may end up with a new crossover version.

Sounds lovely, apologies if the folks here are bugging you about updates :P

I went ahead and ordered the SB13MFC-4's from TLHP. The total cost ended up being cheaper than if I had gotten them from Madisound. I eagerly await any updates, can't wait to get a second Xmechanik speaker going.

So I'm finally trying a different version of the crossover: lower spl, simpler network, more affordable coils and lower f6 (but just a bit)

To further reduce the circuit, I think the1.1mF capacitor is optional; some differences will appear below 150Hz without it. Slight change to the PR slope value could be compensated with tweeter resistor adjustment.

For the 1.1mF capacitor, I'm using two 560uF capacitors in parallel. I haven't installed them on the crossover pad, currently they're connected externally to the terminal.

After assembly, I measured entire speaker on full H and V orbits (the 1.1mF capacitor was not connected). This time the measurements match the crossover simulation quite well.

Attatched VituixCAD project file with these measurements.

Can you give an idea of what are the differences between this and Mechano23 for a near field setup?

Also, I thought I read that you have a slot port in the back of this. Is that still the case or did you decide to remove it? A PR seems like it would work well in this instead of a port also.

I put the sb sb 5x8 pr in mine after being unhappy with a port. I dont really care for ports in 5" woofer speakers they tend to chuff kind of early. With the pr you can get away with bass boosts easily which these small speakers tend to benefit from. Ive given mechano23 +6db bass boosts before and it dont care. Pretty impressive woofer for how cheap it is.

I'm honestly the same with ports in smaller speakers as well. A PR in the rear seems in my mind to be the better way to go for this speaker too. My idea is to put a 5x8 in the back of this one like SB Acoustics SB15SFCR-00 5x8 Passive Radiator. $38 bucks each.

I'm honestly just waiting on the final crossover setup to be designed first.

I think version 27 and maybe even 28 Mechano has already been created... Remember that @XMechanik is doing this for science, maybe for someone else, we are at the end and patiently keep all the elements in the store cart all the time, checking every day if something has changed... Has anyone of you already assembled a set using the new version of the crossover?
