I can cut the bass and send it to send it only to the sub and the rest of the band to the satellites
and equalize both the sub and the satellites, as I want?
Hi
I would suggest to just take it easy. Take baby steps. One at the time and if you persevere and do it correctly , you will delighted.
0) Acquire a miniDSP UMik-1
0.5) Download REW
Research, read, learn, ask questions then...
go into the direction of:
1) use the amps as a "power amp". Do not mess with its volume setting once the system, is set. I would suggest max volume ,but begin with a mid-set. so that you don't blow up your speakers, then you will have to bring at a point close to max and leave it there, forever
. Don't touch it again.
2) Use the miniDSP as a preamp/DRC/DSP/Crossover.
Things become complicated from there but please keep reading. The miniDSP 2x4 HD, can provide your audio system with a level of correction that can only described as superlative. All that for a (relatively) modest cash outlay. There is a lot of learning involved there but to keep it simple.
The miniDSP 2x4 will perform an excellent crossover job: It can send, to put it simply all the bass to your subwoofers and the rest to your mains speakers. The mains are connected to integrated amp, that I suggest you use as a power amp.
The level of flexibility is bewildering. You can choose the frequencies ( I suggest under the customary 80 Hz to begin , perhaps stay there..), the slope, the type of filter, the levels, ... etc for the mains independently of the sub or subs, since you have 4 outputs (2 for mains and 2 for subwoofers...).
You can apply equalization to each output separately.. EQ for left, Eq for right, EQ for sub1 , EQ for sub 2..
You can even apply delay between subwoofers and mains to align the speakers..
But all this should not be done by ears, you must measure, for that you need REW ($0, but I strongly suggest a donation) and the miniDSP UMIK-1 (<$125). If you don't know, yet , how to measure, there are threads in here, ASR that would guide you . Or... you ask questions, in this thread, these fine people here, will guide you.
I hasten to say this is not going to be "press-a-button-and-you're-done": . It will take several iterations; depending on your level of involvement , free time and perseverance: From a few days, to a few months... Yes, a few
months, if you are just beginning (and even for many long time audiophiles, this can be challenging). You will be tested, frustrated, but, perseverance will reward you with a system that extract the max , from your gear, in your environment.
Peace.
