So I have thought for a nice little surprise for my relatives. I wanted to play some music that was very popular at their time when there were at university.
Suggest me some tracks that were popular and if possible tracks that have very good staging. Thanks a lot wonderful people

Prepare for a weird and, hopefully, wonderful range of music and genres ... I can't imagine that you'll find consensus, but good luck :)

Big events for us (early 80's);
  • Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon - all of it
  • Velvet Underground & Nico - all of it - esp. "Heroin"
  • Genesis - A Trick of the Tail - esp. "Ripples"
  • New Order - Blue Monday
  • All David Bowie - esp. Alladin Sane - esp. "Lady Grinning Soul"
Too much to mention, there was a *lot* of music

that is totally fine.
Lets also see what our 70s friends will listen for their times in university/college

I graduated college in 1973. Some of the albums that got massive play during my time:

Who's Next - The Who
LA Woman - The Doors
Aqualung - Jethro Tull
Let It Bleed - Rolling Stones
The Allman Brothers Band - same
Idlewild South - Allman Brothers Band
Live at Fillmore East - Allman Brothers Band
Layla & ... - Derek and the Dominos
Tommy - The Who
Blind Faith - same
John Barleycorn Must Die - Traffic
Low Spark of High Heeled Boy - Traffic

Don't forget the Stones' Exile on Main Street. One of my all-time favorites.

1974...Okie Studio Album by J.J. Cale...all of it!

They'll especially enjoy Heroin if they are, or were, intravenous drug users.

Remembering the LPs I played a lot at that time ( which I still play!) :-
Pink Floyd - Saucerful of Secrets and DSOTM
Hendrix - Are you Experienced
Simon & Garfunkel - any
Moody Blues - any
Cream - Fresh Cream and Disraeli Gears
Blind Faith
John Mayall - Beano album

Sweet memories.

Led Zepplin Stairway to Heaven and anything else related to Lord Of The Rings that many uni students were reading at the time.

What were they into? Psychedelic? Folk? Rock? You even had early punk by the late 70s. It was not all Led Zeppelin. Who , or Pink Floyd back then.

Lots of emphasis on the 70s here. Let's aim for some 80s as well:

Van Halen
Metallica
John Mellencamp
Tom Petty
Dire Straits
Robert Cray
The Police
AC/DC
Jimmy Buffett
Bob Marley
