That’s a great resource! Mostly I explore it looking up old hifi magazines. Honestly not being contrarian but I listen to pre-1940 content quite a bit, sometimes a lot; it goes in phases. Even digitally reproduced on CD the recordings often sound like a quill scratching a piece of old shellac. The music is so good though, you just listen through it because that’s what’s available.

Which makes me realize: What will Leroy Carr and Scrapper Blackwell and other beautiful antique performances sound like when their recordings are given an AI treatment? This is probably happening already and I’m just out of touch…
