Is there a device that already exists or perhaps a simple DIY way to use the 12v trigger outs from streamers and amps to activate other USB powered devices like the Neohipo VU meter or Fosi music light visualizer, which are both 5v USB powered? I already have a TrickleStar trigger power outlet and it's hit or miss. Thanks for any help!

What streamers or amps have 5V trigger? It's usually 12V.

Thanks for the correction. Changed to 12V

One way I can think is to use a power strip with main follow function.

Brennstuhl make some, other brands likely too.

Plug your main device (Amp/streamer/TV) into the main socket and an old USB Type-A phone charger into one of the Follow sockets, and from there into your various 5V devices.

Once you put the main device into Standby, power consumption drops and the strip will cut power to the phone charger.

Once you turn on your main device, the phone charger is automatically turned back on.

I currently use a power strip with main follow function in another set up and functionally it is finicky. Was wondering if there is something like that specifically for 12v triggers. Thanks for the responses fellas.

I use these to power up my 5 amps and other items from the preamps trigger out. They offer a lot of options.

It's not clear to me that the devices you mention can be turned on by plugging them into a power outlet with the appropriate 5v adapters attached to them. If they can't be turned on in this fashion, then activating them will require a different approach such as issuing them an IR or Bluetooth command based on a signal being detected from a streamer or amplifier 12v trigger.

Maybe I misunderstand your needs??
For this you would take a trigger cable and cut one end off, attach the two wires inside it to the green connector on the side of the IoT box and plug the other into the trigger-out of your amp, whatever. When you turn that device on it will power up the AC strip.

I'm thinking of the best way to pull his chains. LOL

You're thinking is spot on for what I'm looking for and actually I like your idea and if I knew a 12v trigger plugged into the green slot would work I'd try it! However, it's the same price as other advanced power outlets so I went ahead and purchased another Tricklestar advanced power outlet with a power control similar to the one you shared, except it is triggered by the amp turning while plugged into the 120v control outlet.
