100% tariffs on non-USA movies?

sad thing is no great art or entertainment will come out of it(things which are controlled).

No star wars, no Miles Davis...no zztop* too.
*was my favourite when i was in college.

Many movies and TV series presumed to be American are actually produced in Canada wholly or in part on account of favorable tax and other gov't supports for the Canadian film industry. Canada is seen as convenient, safe, friendly place with high competent film producers.

Presumably current US Federal administration is out to "re-shore" film making with similar tactics to manufacturing.

One can discuss the merits of these things without planting a blue or red flag in the ground , insulting democratically elected leaders etc .
Absolutely, as this is economic policy that affects peoples everyday lives and livelihoods. One can support whatever political parties, yet still disagree with a certain policy.

I would hope this thread could stay on topic, specially proposed tariffs on foreign films to be consumed in the US and the impact that may have economically, socially, culturally etc.

It seems complicated though.
What would Netflix do for example for its foreign to US content? Add an additional fee or swallow the cost itself? (unlikely)

Going to extremes, what will be with stuff like YT and the shorts? It seems odd to say the least.

With the prolific nature of tariffs and proposed tariffs, am locking this thread pending a review by Amir on how to proceed.

Thanks for your patience and understanding while we sort this out.
