1 bit Dac?

You do dither on class D amps?
You don't, but you do filter, heavily, at the same principle.
Dither is to correct issues linked to quantization. Most class D amps are analog, so no quantization, so no problem linked to quantization. Filter is there for EMI reasons.

The paper I highlighted at the previous post does not blame quantization error, it states that:

It's the same argument we see about class D's ultrasonic, filtered noise.
That's why I wrote that this paper didn't age well, proper filtering prevents that at modern amps.

That's not the main takeaway of the paper, and this is not related to dither but to noise shaping. To reach the DSD reqs, very heavy handed noise shaping is needed.
BTW when I see the relatively poor analog filtering from modern DACs, not sure that this argument, even if not the most convincing, aged that much.

I already said that dither is out of the question.

But noise is noise. And you're right about it, it would be nice to have all DACs having Bricasti-type, nice filtering.
But...

To be honest, the only 1bit DAC I’m aware of is then Topping :)

Looking to get the Eversolo A6 Gen2 but for a couple of pound more, I could get the Topping ..

A properly designed 1-bit DAC is no 2-bit DAC ;-)

1 bit Dac (like the Topping Discrete) .. Is this snake oil and would you really hear a difference compared to something like the Eversolo A6 Gen2?
The DAC is not snake oil. If the vendor makes unfounded claims of it, e.g. that it sounds better because of its 1-bit design, then the claims are arguably snake oil.

You could market a competent DAC with 1-bit design at a price people are prepared to pay and make no unfounded claims of it. Where's the snake oil?
