00 Simulator - A high-performance web-based modular enclosure simulator

Hey all - I've been actively building a web based enclosure simulation tool which I launched in Jan this year.

What started as frustration with WinISD is now starting to innovate in other areas.

It's got all the bits you'd expect from WinISD - Vented/BR/PR/BP4/BP6, graphs, classic/TL simulation, end correction - so instead I'll talk about what's different:

- Modular dashboards - Dashboards are composed together of a series of tiles - so you can re-arrange, resize and create the dashboard you want for a given project
- Public accounts - share designs with community
- Cloud workspaces - save and run anywhere. Guest mode fully supported still
- Link sharing - publish designs and share with the community - e.g https://simulator.00aud.io/app/share/6NDL38-30L-bandpass6-cmq6hroqw0001js04267neihw
- Headroom simulation - simulate headroom and amplifier requirements. Think of this as a more granular way to understand max acoustic output - whether your design is constrained by port velocity, average power or excursion
- Lots more custom tiles - Baffle step, compare X-Y (e.g port velocty vs excursion, SPL vs group delay)
- Realtime T/S tweaking - T/S tile allows you to
- Inline EQ editing - Click EQ on the SPL tile, right click to add EQ points and drag around
- Mobile support - Works fine for now - further optimisations incoming soon
- Import/export from WinISD - Export or import .wpr files with full compatibility
- Wiring - Auto generates series/parallel configurations, pick to see amplifier impact when running multiple drivers
- Paste webpage/datasheet to create driver - No more trying to find the right textbox for a T/S parameter
- Large + growing driver DB - ~2000 drivers so far, this is part of another project I run (bits.00aud.io). Aiming to build out a large verified open dataset for other tools to build on

Active development:
- MCP -
Allowing agents to connect to your workspace and brainstorm/simulate on your behalf
- Share revamp - Allowing commenting/sharing of files/github projects to better support open source
- Traced datasheets - support for more granular FR/impedance plots. This will form the basis of ZMA/FRD imports and more measured data
- Validation dataset - open source initiative to publish large dumps of WinISD projects and output to cross verify this tool (or other novel simulators in this space!). This will go into a published report accompanying each release so deviations/enhancements can be documented and improved over time. This will include share links to track any potential drift, so your shared designs don't change
- Mobile refinements - swipe to switch graph rather than scroll

- Embeddable plots to third party sites
- Crossover design (post-measurement support)
- Transmission line + horn support

Given that you joined about six hours ago and this is your third post, what does this mean?
I think that a lot of people here are quiet readers – some even without accounts – who find other ways to collaborate and interact :)
I'm sure the community of people who care about good audio (and tools) is way bigger then we all might anticipate

@mbd-00 - I'm already a fanboy of the simulator - coming from WinISD – and really looking forward to it's evolution and roadmap....
Is there any way you folks prefer feedback / collaboration?

As @Sigberg Audio said – I'm especially keen to get more drivers into it
 
Nice work. I imported a WinISD project and it's so much easier to read and work with your tool. My biggest headache with WinISD is T/S entry but I imagine yours is well ahead there also.

I joined as I noticed @fivenp's post using it. I keep an eye for share links popping up across forums. Users/feedback til now have been across diyaudio, reddit and FB.

You might like the paste from datasheet feature. It's pretty loose - you can just ctrl+a (or cmd+a) on mac the entire webpage, and chuck it in - it'll figure it out.

I spend a bit of time using your app this morning and I like it so far! The headroom tile is very useful and the UI is rather sleek. I'm going to work through the docs next as not all of the plots are intuitive for me but I'm also fairly new to speaker design.

Anyway, awesome job so far, you've got yourself a new user.

Disclaimer - the docs have been partly AI generated to fill them out until I have time to get to manually writing more. Please drop a message in here if anything's unclear and happy to explain any bits that are confusing personally.

And, it would be valuable feedback if bits feel wrong or are non-obvious to a new user!
 
@grobalt - yes, at the moment this is just a simple T/S model similar to WinISD - it's a fundamental limitation of this type of technique that it's only really accurate below 300hz or so.

I'm working on transmission line + horn simulation and datasheet response tracing so I will be lifting this limit soon though.

What are you trying to simulate?

Right now - I'd recommend the following workflow:
- Use this simulator to iterate on the LF section of your design. Should allow you to pass over many more LF drivers and enclosures in a faster period of time til you get something you like the look of
- Verify that the crossover ranges/directivity/sensitivity from the datasheet look workable
- Once happy, switch to something like VituixCAD to work on the other components + directivity, take component measurements and in-box measurements etc if you're doing passive, if active, just measure and tune with REW/Smaart

Directivity and higher upper bounds is coming, hopefully in the next week or so. In my opinion, designing a good 3-way from simulation alone isn't really possible - needs a few measurement/refinement cycles to get there. Measurement in this simulator is a bit of a way off still, but eventually coming!

This is interesting. It's built in a pretty modular way, so allowing swapping ported sections to PRs isn't too difficult. Will work on this and update you!

Right now - no - BP enclosures can only be ported.
